It is one of the powerful asanas which gives a quick results.Here Kati stands for lower back and chakra for rotation.Thats why its is named Katichakrasana
Note:
Those with slipped disc,Cervical spondylitis should avoid this asana.
Procedure:
- Stand straight with feet slighty separated.Dont bend your body.
- Spread the hands on both sides of the body with palms facing downwards.
- Hold the left shoulder with the right hand and move the left hand on back and try to touch the right waist from the back of the body.
- Rotate upper half of the body towards left side.
- Rotate the neck towards left and try to look back as much as possible.
- Stay in this position as long as it is comfortable for you and then with inhalation come back to initial position.
- Now repeat the same for the other side.
- Removes stiffness of back, tones the lower back, shoulders and neck, and gives a nice stretch to the back in general.
- Drinking water after each 3 rounds ensures improved benefit in constipation. Practice Kati Chakrasana early in the morning before eating anything else.
- Fat is reduced from the waist by regular practice.
- Massages the abdominal visceral organs.
- Relaxes the nervous system.
