Apple Kheer:
I have tried this recipe and found out the taste is awesome .This may take a little more time but still tastes best and worth trying
Ingredients:
Apples 2
Milk 4 cups
Cashew powder 2 table spoons
Raisins 15
Cardamon Powder a pinch
Ghee a tablespoon
Sugar 3/4 cup
Cooking Time:
Preparing Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Method:
Step 1: Peel apples and grate them immediately
Step 2: Pour milk into a thick bottomed vessel and boil it until it is reduced to 2/3 of its quantity and becomes thick
Step 3: Take another skillet add ghee , when it is ready add grated apples and fry for two or three minutes , it turns into light brown color in two minutes ,now add sugar and stir until it thickens and becomes thick
Step 4: Add the cashew powder and cook for 5 to 10 minutes
Step 5: Now add 1/2 of the boiled milk and bring it boil , finally add the remaining milk and stir well
Step 6: Garnish with fresh raisins and let it cool.Serve hot/cold
Hot Pongal with Groundnut Chutney:
Hot/Sweet pongal is traditionally offered to Goddess Lakshmi during all kinds of prayers.
Ingredients:
Moong dal 1/2 cup
Rice 1/2 cup
Pepper balls 10 or 15 depending upon your taste
Bay leaf 1
Mustard Seeds 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric 1/4 tea spoon
Green chilies 4
Ginger a small piece
Hing 1 pinch
Salt for taste
Curry Leaves 10
Cashews 10
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Ghee 1 tablespoon
Oil 1 tablespoon
Cooking Time:
Preparing Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Method:
Step 1: Slice green chilies and chop ginger into small pieces
Step 2: Rinse well the dal and rice .Heat oil & ghee add cumin seeds , mustard seeds , bay leaf ,when sputters add hing & cashews when they turn brown add green chilies ,ginger pieces,curry leaves
Step 3: Fry for a minute add moong dal and rice .Add salt and pepper balls
Step 4: After a minute add 4 cup of water and cover with a lid or cook it in cooker for about 6 whistles
Groundnut Chutney:
This goes good with pongal. You may taste with Idli and dosa as well

Groundnuts 1/2 cup
green chilies 5
Red chilies 6
Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon
Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon
Tamarind pulp 1/2 tablespoon
Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
Salt for taste
Sugar a pinch
Cooking Time:
Preparing Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 5 minutes
Method:
Step 1: Heat oil add tempering,when sputters carefully take it into a blending jar and now roast the groundnuts
Step 2: When groundnuts are completely roasted take them into same blending jar and add green chilies .
Step 3: Blend a little bit and then add salt,sugar and tamarind pulp and make it into a smooth chutney
Step 4: Heat a little oil , temper with mustard and curry leaves
