There is a little scary point that some vegetables give up nutrients when they are cooked while some increase their nutrient contents.
So take a look about some interesting vegetables which are good when taken after cooking than taking them raw all alone and viceversa .
Asparagus :
- This low calorie and less sodium content spring vegetable is a pack of many vitamins fiber and even protein.
- Taking this raw is very good for health , but when you steam asparagus, it ignites its cancer-fighting potential.
- Mushrooms are a very low-calorie food usually eaten cooked or raw and as garnish to a meal .Mushrooms are even pack of vitamins , & fiber with no trace of sodium .
- Heating mushrooms—whether you saute, boil, grill, or roast them—brings out more muscle-building potassium. So, prefer eating them cooked .
Spinach:
- Spinach has a high nutritional value and is extremely rich in antioxidants,and also rich in vitamin A , C iron and many other vitamins .
- Prefer eating spinach cooked as you'll absorb more calcium, iron, and magnesium which helps for strong and healthy bones.
Tomatoes:
- Yummiest of all the super foods with a load of cancer fighting ability , good for heart and healthy looking skin .
- Prefer eating tomatoes cooked when you eat tomatoes cooked, your body absorbs more of their cancer-fighting lycopene.
Onions:
- As described in many posts Onions are one of the super foods which when consumed raw or cooked makes your body healthy .
- Prefer eating onions raw .Just slice and eat: You get less of the hunger-busting phytonutrient allicin when you cook onions.
Beets :
- Beets are even one of the best super foods . And consume the beets raw as Beets lose more than 25 percent of their folate when cooked.
- Eating them raw will preserve this brain compound.
- Broccoli is high in vitamin C, as well as dietary fiber; it also contains multiple nutrients with potent anti-cancer properties
- Heating deactivates myrosinase, an enzyme in broccoli that helps cleanse the liver of carcinogens.
Bell peppers:
- Bell peppers are rich in vitamin C which helps to build the immunity system in our body .
- Prefer eating bells raw or half boiled as their vitamin C breaks down when roasted, fried, or grilled above 375 degrees. (* Red peppers have twice the vitamin C content & more vitamins and nutrients than of green peppers )
