& you probably love the besan gravy curry served with poori in hotels ,mainly road side hotels .
If you ever tasted this , you know what I am talking about ,because people love to eat poori for this curry at only certain places . What if you can prepare this curry at your place more healthy but with the same taste , a big YES !!!!
This basic recipe does involve only four to five ingredients those are available in your kitchen everyday.A simple and a must try recipe .
Ingredients:
Potatoes 1 to 2 chopped into cubes
Carrots 1 chopped into cubes
Onions 1 large cup sliced length wise
Curry leaves few
Salt according to taste
Chickpea Flour (coarsely done) 1 to 2 table spoons /according to taste preference
For Tempering:
Mustard Seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin Seeds 1/4 teaspoon
Black Gram 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric 2 pinches
Chickpea (Split ) 1 teaspoon
Oil 1 table spoon
Procedure:
Step 1: Heat a pan, add in the tempering , when it sputters , add curry leaves and green chilies.
Step 2: Now add potatoes and carrots , fry for five minutes , then add the sliced onions .
Step 3: Fry until the onions become translucent , then add in abut 3 cups of water . Add salt for taste and let boil until potatoes are cooked and mushy .
Step 4: Mean while add enough water into chickpea flour and make it into a thin consistency fluid without any lumps .
Step 6: Switch off the stove and serve hot with chapati or poori .
- You can add cabbage instead of onions
- You can boil the potatoes , then add them to the gravy
- You can add green peas or tomatoes according to taste
