Eyeliner is one of the most important cosmetics and can give you a
dramatic look without much time or effort. Whether you choose a soft
line or a dramatic stroke, you can embellish the windows to your soul by
spending just a few minutes in front of a mirror with an eyeliner.
Try all these styles and make your eye look more beautiful..
Tips to apply an eye liner:
- Use eyeliner after you've applied eye shadow and before applying mascara.
- Consider a wide variety of liner forms to decide which is best for the look you wish to achieve. There are more distinctions than simply pencil vs. liquid. Softer pencils and thicker liquids (such as cream eyeliners) are easier to apply and create more modern looks.
- Powder liner applied with a dry brush brightens and widens the eyes like pencil liner, but produces a natural look that is often barely noticeable. A dark powder liner applied with a wet brush can mimic the effect of liquid liner and is much easier to apply.
- To sharpen an eyeliner pencil a little easier, store it in the refrigerator or freezer. This will harden it, which will make easier for sharpening as the tip will not smudge or break as often.
- Another trick for mature eyelids if you want to use the liquid liner and have a more defined line: Apply over bare skin, very close to your upper lash line. Smudge slightly before it dries without blending upward. Once it has dried, apply a small amount of natural looking, neutral shadow using a soft shadow brush over the liner and lid. Follow the same instructions for your lower lash liner. Continue with your shadowing. This will eliminate the wrinkled look and give you a smoky softer appearance.
- If your skin is very dry, you will have a problem smudging, so you may want to use a very light cold cream on your face and then wipe it off before applying. This leaves just enough moisture to allow the pigment to move over the skin surface.
- Try using liquid eyeliner for the top part of your eyes and the pencil for bottom. It tends to look better.
- If you have watery eyes, buy an eyeliner that is hypoallergenic. Alternatively, you can put a skin-colored eyeshadow or foundation under your bottom lashes, then apply. Applying over a base will help the liner to stay on better.
