Bread Puffs

Bread Puffs , this can be a tea time snack or a brunch with its perfect taste and unique fragrance . Usually  puffs are prepared with all purpose flour and a lots of butter which are good to taste but very bad for health. So,try this recipe which includes only one tablespoon of oil which is considerably very very  less than the traditional recipe.

Ingredients:
Bread Slices 5
Potato  medium sized 2
Carrot  medium sized 1
Onion small 1
Spring Onions 5 strands
Tomato small  sized1
Green chilies 5
Ginger a small piece
Cumin seeds 1/8 teaspoon
Curry Leaves 10
Coriander Leaves chopped 1/8 cup
Garam masala 1/4 teaspoon
Salt for taste
Butter 1 teaspoon
Oil 1 table spoon

Cooking Time & Calories :
Calories : 100 per puff
Preparing Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 8 minutes
Baking Temperature : 325 F

Method:
Step 1: Peel the potatoes & carrot, chop them into cubes .Now boil them and let them cool.
Step 2: Chop onions ,ginger & spring onions ,slice green chilies length wise.Chop tomato into small cubes .
Step 3:Take a skillet add 1 teaspoon butter and 1/2 tablespoon oil . When the oil is hot add cumin seeds when they sputter add onions, spring onions ,ginger, curry leaves  and green chilies ,lower the flame and cook for 5 minutes covering with the lid.
Step 4:When onions turn brown color add tomatoes and a little salt to tender them.Again cover the lid and cook for 5 more minutes.
Step 5: Now slightly mash the potato cubes ,You don't need them to be mashed completely . Add the mashed potato and carrot cubes into the curry and stir well
Step 6: Now add salt for taste and cook for a minute. Finally after switching off the stove add garam masala and coriander leaves on top of the curry and mix well.

Step 7: Take the bread slices and cut them into  triangular shapes ,you need not cut the edges as when they bake they become crispy which is the most desirable taste of a puff.
Step 8: When the slices are ready just place the curry on top of one slice , and cover it with another half.Make sure that that the stuff wont spill out .

Step 9: Spray the remaining 1/2 table spoon of oil on the slices both sides .
Step 10: Preheat the oven to 325 F and place the bread slices inside for about 7 or 8 minutes . You can turn the slice avoiding them from burning after 3 or 4 minutes.
Step 11: If you don't have a Oven you can directly fry this on a pan ,until it turns light brown color.
Step 12: Serve hot .

Tips:
  • Slice the green chilies length wise as you can easily sort them out while stuffing the puff .
  • Don't over do the baking ,that may result in burning of the bread
  • The time frame is not suitable for all kinds of oven so,check the puffs so that they wont get burnt .
  • You can cut the edges depending upon your taste ,but they really make the puff crispy
  • You can add more flavor to these by adding meat of your favorite taste .
