Chinese Hot & Sour Soup

Chinese Hot & Sour soup is a light meal eaten any time in a day.This is my favourite which i often prepare during the winter season.

2 tsp cornflour powder
1/2 tsp soya sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tsp chilli sauce
salt to taste
 1 Tbsp finely chopped celery

1/4 cup tomato ketchup
1/2 tsp black pepper
 1 tsp finely chopped garlic

1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 cup finely shredded carrot
1 cup finely shredded cabbage

For stock:
1/2 cup shredded cabbage
1/2cupchopped onions
1/2cup beans
1/2cup carrot
1/2tsp garlic
 1tbsp celery
5cups water

Cooking Time & Calories:
Preparation Time:30 min
Cooking Time:20min

Stock Preparation:
Step 1:Heat oil in a pot.Add onion, celery, carrots,garlic,beans,cabbage Cook over high heat for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 2:Add  water and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer and leave it for 30 minutes. Strain. Discard vegetables.

Soup Preparation:
Step 1:  Bring the stock to the boil and add the rest of the ingredients.
Step 2:Take a small bowl with corn flour powder and add half cup water.Mix well without lumps.
Step 3:Slowly stirring add the corn stock to the soup.
Step 4:Simmer 2-3minutes and stir well.
Step 5:Bring to the boil.Garnish with fresh cream and serve hot.

 1.For crunchy taste you can add bread crumbles deep fried in oil.                   

  2. You can also add paneer,mushrooms according to your taste.
