Cramps

Some women experience lower abdominal pain, sharp  pain that spikes  caused by muscle contraction or over shortening, where as  some experience  lower back pain, in  menstrual cycle. This killing pain is called  Cramp. The medical term for this is Dysmenorrhea.

                                                                       
  • Do light circular massage with your fingertips around your lower belly area.
  • Avoid foods that contain caffeine and salt.
  • Drink 6-8 glasses of water which helps in balancing hormones.
  • Eat light but frequent meals.
  • Calcium and magnesium deficiencies  can be also a reason for menstrual pains. So increase the consumption of these minerals.
  • Follow a diet rich in complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
  • Bloating will be one major problem  for many women in menstrual cycle , if you face this problem avoid fiber rich foods like whole grains ,and dairy products.
  • Practice yoga regularly.
Note:
  • You can try home remedies like rolling a bottle filled with hot water on your tummy usually this allows to expand the contractions of muscles there by minimizes the pain  
  • You can minimize the pain by swallowing a small capsule made with turmeric and ghee mixed and made into a ball or capsule, along with lukewarm water
