Stuffed Mirchi Bajji Tanjy Stew/ Mirchi Bajji Pulusu

I have leftover mirchi bajji at home so I tried this recipe. A spicy and tangy stew with stuffed bajji. Oh so yummy!


1/2 cup- Onions
1 cup- Diced Tomato
3 tsp- Oil
Salt to taste
1 tsp- Ginger Garlic Paste
1/2 tsp- Coriander Powder
Chilly Powder to taste
1 medium lemon sized tamarind (extract the juice in 1 cup water)

Preparation Time & Cooking Time:
Preparation Time: 5min
Cooking Time: 15min

Stuffed Mirchi Bajji:

  • In a bowl take minced onions, lemon juice and chopped coriander. Mix this well.
  • Now slit the bajji and stuff it with the mixture.

Step 1: Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan add onions.
Step 2: Fry them at low flame.
Step 3: Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 4min. Add red chilli powder and salt.

Step 4: Add tomato pieces, saute them for 2- 3 minutes.


Step 4: Add the tamarind extract with 1 1/2 cups of water and bring it to boil.


Step 5: Add coriander powder and mix it well. Cut the mirchi bajji to small pieces and mix them to the stew.

Step 6: Add fresh coriander and keep covered for a few minutes. Serve hot with rice.
